SU24: SM: How Do I Explain Who Jesus Is? A Study of the Creeds
SUNDAY MORNING, Room 301
This summer we will spend 9 weeks looking at the text of the Nicene and Apostles' creeds. Whether you are “new in the faith” or have been a Christian for some time, please join us this summer for this exciting class. At the beginning of the course, we'll spend a short time explaining why creeds are useful and beneficial for the Church. Then we'll look at the Nicene Creed: the reasons why the Church found it necessary to devise the creed, what the creed clarifies for the Christian community with respect to Who and what Jesus is/is not, and why it is important for Christians to understand the teaching of this creed. Finally, we will look at the Apostles' Creed to understand what it teaches the Christian community about our triune God and the faith "once for all delivered to the saints."
